NEW CARLISLE, OH – Oct 12, 2015 – Ohio Veterans United today announced the endorsement of KEVIN F. WHITE for Congress – Ohio District 8. The announcement was made by Col. Thomas Moe, honorary chair and founding member of Ohio Veterans United.

KEVIN WHITE is a 26-year Air Force/Navy veteran and as a command pilot has over 4,000 hours in the C-130, T-34C, SH-3 & UH1N. He has served as the Chief of Naval Air Training, Familiarization Stage Manager, HC-16 Maintenance Pilot/FCF Pilot, Operations officer and Squadron Communications Officer.  He has deployed 6 times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/HOA/OND, with over 375 combat sorties and 850+ combat flight hours.

His awards and citations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Aerial Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Award with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation with one oak leaf cluster, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat Readiness Medal with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border and two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with five oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Reserve Medal  with 2 “M” devices and one oak leaf cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon.

White earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical science in 1987 from The United States Naval Academy, and has completed curriculum at The Ohio State University and Texas A & M. Currently Mr. White is a commercial pilot flying for United Airlines. He is a member of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni and a member of American Legion Post 286 New Carlisle, Ohio.

Making the announcement was Col. Moe, a retired United States Air Force pilot who fought in Vietnam and spent five years in captivity as a POW.
