Good morning! I have read the entire Constitution from time to time throughout my life and I am one of a handful of persons running that has sworn an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. I do not take this oath lightly and I look forward to taking this oath again in the service of citizens residing in Ohio’s 8th Congressional District.
My platform is built on a return to limited government “Of the People, By the People & For the People” and honoring the 10th amendment so that Washington’s overreach can be checked, slowed, stopped and then reversed. I don’t agree with several court’s decisions/interpretations of our Constitution and those objections are well documented on my website in articles that discuss public education (secular humanism and the removal of God from the public square- the disestablishment clause mis-interpretation), abortion (Roe v Wade), the second amendment right to keep and bear arms and more.
I don’t currently have a published document (until today!) that specifically defines my views on the Constitution but rather my positions flow from a deep respect and commitment to this document and for the Republic and her future. I believe the Constitution is under attack from many forces but most especially from the classroom and the courts. This has been a systematic effort for nearly 100 years.
I have in the past and do now pledge that I will support and defend the entire Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and that my efforts in Congress shall always start with cross-examination of my core-values and their alignment with the content of our founding documents-most especially the Constitution of the United States of America and the Declaration of Independence.
My favorite Supreme Court Justice was Justice Scalia and his loss is heavy not only for his loved ones but also for our Republic as I believe he was the country’s most stalwart living champion of liberty and a most effective advocate for the preservation of our constitutional republic form of government. For me he was the “gold standard” of how our constitution should be employed, preserved and revered. I thank you for your question; keep them coming.
